Step into the heart of Marrakech’s tile-making tradition. Guided by a local master artisan, the maâlem, you discover the secrets of Moroccan zellij, a craft that carries centuries of artistic heritage, and learn the gestures that shaped this iconic art form.
At the end of the workshop you take home more than the piece you made: a deeper connection to the heritage of Moroccan craftsmanship.
What you will do
Guided visit of the tile-making centre (30 min)
A guided tour of one of the oldest pottery and tile-making centres in Marrakech.
Hands-on workshop (3 hours)
Work alongside the maâlem: cutting, shaping and assembling zellij, with all materials and tools provided.
Mint tea and your piece
Mint tea and water are served during the workshop, and you leave with your own creation.
